Pharmacy Technician (m/f)

The Pharmacy Technician at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Croatia provides pharmaceutical care to patients by showing proficiency in essential technician functions such as nonsterile medication preparation, packaging and labeling of medications, medication filling, and medication distribution. These services will be provided in compliance with country and regional regulations as well as UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and center-specific policies. Responsibility: - Assist in the provision of the proper oral and injectable medications (including intravenous admixtures) for the correct patient for administration at the appropriate time. Use proper technique in the preparation of medications - Maintain all patient information and records. Maintain the pharmacy computer system as required - Assist in the procurement, accountability, storage, preparation, and distribution of drugs - Maintain and update department stock, emergency boxes, and crash carts - Prepare cytotoxic and hazardous drugs (e.g. chemotherapy) - Proper clean (e.g., pharmacy, IV rooms, isolators) in accordance with current standards - Audit and maintain accurate records for controlled substances. Assure that all such drugs are stored and dispensed in compliance with all applicable regulations - Participate in departmental quality improvement activities in order to continually improve and evaluate pharmaceutical care as reflected by operational and patient care indicators - Performs other duties as assigned

- High school graduate or equivalent is required - Previous pharmacy experience is preferred - Previous oncology experience (e.g., compounding, handling) is preferred - Individual must demonstrate initiative and good judgment - Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Croatian AND English is required
