Vermilion Energy has an exciting opportunity within the Central and Eastern Europe Business Unit seeking a Senior Geologist. Based in Zagreb, Croatia, this role will be and be an integral part of the CEE Business Unit Subsurface Team providing geological expertise to understand the resource potential and associated risks to explore and develop our Croatian assets. The successful candidate will join a team that values its people and provides work with purpose. This position is a permanent full-time position.
What you will do:
- Deliver high quality standard subsurface geological evaluations (play maps, cross-sections, Geo-models) through subsurface data integration and analysis (well logs, core, seismic, dynamic data) and document technical contribution with appropriate reports and other pertinent technical data
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of the Exploration concessions to identify new exploration opportunities and define concession maturation and long range plans
- Recommend drilling opportunities while ensuring their risk profiles are in line with the requirements of the company strategy
- Contribute to the maturation of drilling proposal documentation, monitor operations, analyze results and perform lookbacks
- Support the evaluation and development of existing fields by working with the team to select infill candidates, workovers, recompletions and other opportunities
- Develop complete knowledge of the lithology, structure, porosity, net pay and hydrocarbon/water saturation of all productive zones in the assigned area by the use of well logs, drill stem tests, core analyses, seismic data, drilling history and understanding of production history
- Work within an integrated team to recommend drilling locations, especially in close cooperation with the geophysicist, reservoir engineer and drilling engineers to recommend specific target locations and well design
- Use Petrel & Kingdom modeling software, or others as required, in order to construct relevant reservoir/ seal isopach maps, cross sections for prospect analysis and build structural/ reservoir geo-models, input to dynamic reservoir models as required
- Work with partners to plan technical recommendations on joint lands
- Prepare and present geological presentations to and liaise with management, partners and regulatory organizations as required

Potrebno obrazovanje, znanja i vještine
- Geoscience graduates, preferably with a Masters
- 5+ years of oil and gas industry experience
- Experience in exploration and development projects
- Strong background in stratigraphy, facies analysis, structural geology, well correlations and geological modeling; experience with seismic interpretation is a plus
- Proficiency in English required, Croatian speaking a plus
- Ability to work in a multidiscipline team with good communication skills
- Initiative and drive to move projects along and share progress with the team
