Financial Controller (m/f/d)

We are seeking a driven and experienced Financial Controller to join our client’s expanding team. The client is an innovative company with offices in Europe, Washington, D.C., and Nairobi. It specializes in providing forward-looking data and insights on global consumer demand. Its clients include leading organizations in the FMCG, retail, and financial services industries. The company operates on a subscription-based model, offering strategic intelligence tools that support data-driven decision-making. This role is key to driving financial excellence within a dynamic and evolving organization. The Financial Controller will work closely with leadership across departments to ensure effective financial management and planning. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the preparation and execution of budgeting and forecasting cycles - Analyze and optimize financial performance in partnership with departmental leads - Deliver insightful financial reporting and recommendations for strategic decisions - Maintain and improve financial models and reporting tools - Prepare materials for investor updates, due diligence processes, and funding activities - Support the implementation of scalable financial tools and process improvements

Professional Skills: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration is typically required - 2 years of proven experience as a Financial Controller, performing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting - Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams - Exceptional proficiency in Excel, including advanced modelling and data analysis - Experience working in a SaaS environment, preferably in a startup setting (Post Series-A) - Background in corporate finance, providing exposure to robust processes and tools - Hands-on experience with funding rounds, due diligence, and reporting to investors or venture capitalists is highly desirable - Fluent in English (C1), both written and spoken Competencies: - Proactive mindset with a strong focus on delivering results independently - Comfortable navigating fast-changing environments and shifting priorities - Solid analytical thinking paired with a strategic, solution-oriented approach Personal Traits: - Goal-oriented and accountable, with a commitment to seeing tasks through - Clear, confident communication and a collaborative spirit - Creative thinker who embraces challenges and explores new ideas - Quick to adapt, eager to contribute, and ready to dive into complex projects
