Control Engineer for Power Electronics (m/f)

We are looking for a Control Engineer for Power Electronics to join our Single Phase UPS team in Zagreb! As a member of Vertiv’s Single Phase UPS team in Zagreb, you will be a part of a team of competent and collaborative colleagues, working on innovative projects in a stimulating workplace, where you will be able to develop your skills and expertise. You will help us to ensure that our products meet high design, development, and production quality. You will drive and focus on development and implementation of control systems and algorithms for power converters. Be involved in control architecture development cycle, including simulations, modeling and implementation. Collaborate with Firmware, Power Electronics, and Hardware Engineers to develop innovative solutions for UPS. Responsibilities: - Control architecture for converters and inverters - Developing mathematical models and designing control algorithms - Control loop simulations, corrections and controller tuning using software Matlab/Simulink, Plecs - Collaborating with other engineering teams, and control algorithms implementation (DSP/FPGA) - Conducting experimental tests together with HW and PE engineers - Validation of controller performance - Analysis of results, drawing conclusions on system performance and feedback to HW/Control teammates - Analysis of different control methods, converters efficiency improvement - Control methods for different battery types, and integration of new charge scenarios for a new chemistry - Ensuring that control systems comply with industry standards and safety regulations - Version control, documentation, control structures definition

Qualifications: - Master's or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, or computer engineering - Experience in power electronics or control systems - Good mathematical foundation - Integration, problem solving and debugging skills - Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts - Experience in UPS and/or power converters development is preferred - Ability to solve problems, proactivity and focus on results - Analytical and critical thinking - Good communication skills - Good organizational skills - Teamwork - Experience in developing and optimizing control algorithms for power converters and inverters - Experience in designing and simulating power electronic systems using Matlab/Simulink, Plecs
