About the role: We are now looking for an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead our Environmental Services operations in Croatia. This pivotal role is responsible for managing the business, laboratory, and administrative teams in alignment with defined strategies and values, while ensuring exceptional performance and growth. Strategic & Financial Leadership: - Full P&L responsibility, budget preparation, and cost control. - Drive profitable growth and achieve annual financial targets. - Define and execute local business strategies in cooperation with the GM Environmental Eastern Europe. Operational Excellence: - Lead day-to-day operations of the laboratory and site functions. - Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and quality regulations. - Implement and monitor KPIs to ensure efficiency and productivity. Team & People Management: - Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management for all staff. - Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE standards. - Mentor and develop management-level direct reports. Client & Business Development: - Represent ALS in client meetings, industry events, and public forums. - Ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction. - Lead marketing and business development efforts to expand market presence. Compliance & Quality Assurance: - Ensure adherence to internal SOPs, quality systems, and audit processes. - Support internal and external audits, implementing corrective actions where needed.

Education & Experience: - University degree in Science, Engineering, or Business. - Minimum 5 years in senior management or business development within a technical/service industry. - Experience in laboratory environments and/or environmental services is a plus. Skills & Competencies: - Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities. - Sound understanding of business and financial principles (P&L, ROI, EBIT, etc.). - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Proven ability to drive operational improvements and lead cross-functional teams. - Customer-focused with strong commercial acumen. Other Requirements: - Fluent Croatian proficiency (verbal and written). - Upper-intermediate English proficiency (verbal and written). - Proficiency in MS Office Suite. - Valid driving license (Category B). - Willingness to travel as needed.
