IT Support Specialist (m/f)

We are now looking for a new IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team in Zagreb, Croatia! As an IT Support Specialist you will provide 1st and 2nd level support for Vertiv employees in Croatia and Eastern Europe as a member of the EMEA End User Computing team. Responsibilities include administration of IT infrastructure and services in alignment with local and global business needs, corporate policies, and procedures. This role involves managing various IT systems, providing hardware and software configuration, maintenance, user training, and consultation. The role also includes defining standard IT solutions, preparing documentation, procuring IT equipment, and participating in global IT projects focused on service improvement and technology implementation. The specialist will make recommendations for future improvements and maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops and training, reporting to the regional IT manager. What kind of work will you be doing? - Provide IT support for Vertiv employees in alignment with internal SLAs - Troubleshoot issues and proactively prevent potential technical problems - Track work and user requests through the global ticketing system - Procure IT equipment, software, and services, including defining specifications, requesting quotes, preparing approval documentation, and coordinating orders and purchases with procurement and finance teams - Manage hardware and software assets - Perform basic Active Directory administration - Manage basic file server access rights - Collaborate with global IT teams on various projects, requests, and issues - Strictly adhere to corporate security and data retention policies - Manage antivirus protection and monitor client computers - Implement hard-drive encryption on corporate laptops - Manage Microsoft and MacOS clients - Respond to network outages via mobile phone, providing first response and communicating issues with the global networking team - Familiarize yourself with hardware and software used by local business - Provide training on existing technology to new employees - Consult with employees on potential uses of existing technology - Provide network access to all employees - Prepare new IT equipment, software, and workstations - Install security updates, dependencies, and required software - Connect and set up hardware at work desks, including cable management - Manage user network accounts and passwords as needed - Monitor critical IT systems and supervise network rooms - Identify and prepare hardware for disposal - Manage various engineering software tools - Organize repairs with authorized service partners - Prepare IT equipment for meeting rooms - Assist with planning and executing the annual IT operating plan and budget for IT equipment and ongoing services - Recommend IT equipment needs based on business requests - Assist in planning IT infrastructure for new and existing office locations, coordinating with global IT Network Team

What Would Be the Perfect Qualifications? - Bachelor’s degree in information science/computer science - 2+ years of experience in a similar position - Proficiency in English (written and spoken) - Valid driver’s license - Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems - Basic understanding of network technologies and protocols - Experience with setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT hardware and software - Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, or similar certifications are welcome but not mandatory - Strong communication (verbal, written, active listening) - Customer service oriented (empathy, courtesy, responsiveness) - Effective problem-solving (adaptability, analytical thinking, creativity, persistence) - Time management (prioritization, multitasking, efficiency) - Attention to detail (accuracy, thoroughness)
