The Telecommunications Design Engineer is responsible for planning and designing network expansions based on existing coaxial or fiber infrastructure, as well as supporting programs that increase network resilience and improve the performance of existing networks. This role encompasses various business segments, including: network expansions at new and existing locations funded from various sources, residential and commercial extensions, Wi-Fi or small cell deployments, node segmentation and cascade reduction, sub-segmentation upgrades to medium or high levels, mobile operator base station backhauls, desktop survey analysis, and network node consolidation.
Key responsibilities:
- Independently develop high-quality fiber network plans and design solutions in AutoCAD, GIS, or similar systems
- Create documentation according to client specifications (including, but not limited to: splice matrices, cost estimates, design drawings, technical drawings, and material management documentation)
- Facilitate accurate verification and modification of client data in a GIS environment
- Maintain accurate records, records in TechServ's and client systems
