Join Vertiv as a Design Thermal HVAC Engineer (in our offices in Zagreb or in Rijeka) and be at the forefront of designing the next generation of HVAC systems for data centers and industrial applications. The data center HVAC and especially cooling system infrastructure market is rapidly growing, evolving, driven by advancements in AI, high-performance computing, and sustainability requirements. At Vertiv, you'll work alongside data center leading industry experts, tackle demanding worldwide projects, gain professional growth and development opportunities, design new cooling technologies as liquid cooling and help shape the future state of the art critical cooling system infrastructure solutions around the world. What you'll do? As a team player, your responsibilities include: - Develop Project Designs for HVAC Systems: Design ventilation systems, chilled water and DX cooling systems, liquid cooling systems for the AI and high-performance supercomputers tailored for modular data center solutions. Develop cooling load calculations, chilled water system and ventilation system PID’s and riser diagrams, perform CFD analysis, technical specifications for HVAC systems, chiller systems, pumps, valves, condensers, air cooling units, AHU’s and design comprehensive HVAC system 3D models for modular solutions. - Work according to the highest international standards: Adhere to international, national, and company standards while integrating good engineering practices into the project designs. - Coordinating and Communicating: Lead HVAC system design and technical specification for different cooling and ventilation systems, participate in meetings with the clients, consultants, suppliers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HVAC designs with electrical, architectural, structural, controls and IT systems. - Approving and Verifying Documentation: Review and approve technical HVAC system documentation from subcontractors and provide technical approval for supplier offers. Ensure HVAC system selection as per intended design and international, national, and company standards. - Supporting and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and expertise during production, construction, assembly, testing and commissioning. Work with manufacturing and site testing teams to resolve issues and ensure Vertiv quality and expertise. - Meet the world: Be a part of client design development reviews and ensure design coordination, compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations all around the globe.

Required education, knowledge and skills

Requirements: - What do we expect from you: work ethic, team spirit, high level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to develop and learn new skills. - Education: Degree in Thermal HVAC Engineering - Language: Fluent in English - Software Skills: Revit, AutoCAD, MagiCAD, liNear, Tileflow, Autodesk CFD, 6SigmaRoom, Ansys Fluent, HAP, MS Office software’s are preferred but not a mandatory requirement. - Technical expertise: Overall cooling and ventilation system design both DX and chilled water system solutions. Technical specifications, calculations, equipment selection such as chillers, pumps, valves, ventilation systems, condensers, dry coolers and AHU’s.
