Product Advisor – HV Switchgear (m/f)

In this role, you will play a part in our high-achieving switchgear, delivering essential technical solutions for our business. As a Product Advisor – HV Switchgear you are a key person for the green shift and part of the energy division in Kongsberg Maritime. In this strategically prioritized growth area, you will be part of an exciting journey to shape the maritime future. Our growth ambitions are bold, and the switchboard product area is a fundamental part of any vessel energy system. You will be part of a team with experienced and motivated engineers in the areas of electrical, mechanical and application design. The Switchgear team has an end to end responsibility from sales to service, and the product engineering function is vital to build a robust business. The product range includes low and medium/high voltage AC switchboards. We deliver from in-house as well as third party manufacturers in Europe and Asia for the global market.

What you will be doing:

Working with the product line of HV switchgear and HV shore connections in all lifecycle phases supporting the global switchgear business end to end.
Developing new and maintaining existing product line of Marine HV AC Switchgears.
Cooperating cross-functionally to make sure our product range is smart and cost effective.
Supporting our global sales team.
Supporting our engineering and commissioning teams.
Work with our manufacturing sites to secure cost level, productivity and quality.

We think you should have:

A BSc or MSc in electrical power engineering or equivalent with at least 7 years of experience, preferably also experience from marine applications.
Experience from HV(MV) switchgear engineering, manufacturing and delivery.
Good experience with protection units for low and medium voltage systems.
Practical experience with installation and testing of HV(MV) switchgears.
Good knowledge and experience with control system interface and communication protocols like IEC 61850 and Modbus TCP.
Good power system understanding and knowledge about short-circuit and selectivity analysis.
Good knowledge about relevant standards and class rules.
