Key Responsibilities: - To service, maintain, diagnose, and repair company vehicles, ensuring the fleet remains safe, reliable, roadworthy, and fully compliant with all legal and operational requirements. - Perform routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on company trucks and fleet vehicles. - Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment. - Carry out repairs on engines, brakes, suspension, steering, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other vehicle components. - Prepare vehicles for CVRT/MOT testing, inspections, and compliance audits. - Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and minimise fleet downtime. - Complete all job cards, maintenance records, and defect reports accurately. - Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and road safety standards. - Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workshop environment. - Follow company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements at all times. Health & Safety at KeyGreen is our priority. - Adhere to all company health and safety policies and safe working practices. - Use PPE, tools, and workshop equipment correctly and responsibly. - Report hazards, defects, near misses, and incidents immediately. - Ensure vehicles are safe and fit for service before being returned to operation. What We're Looking For: Essential Skills & Experience: - Proven experience as an HGV, truck, or commercial vehicle mechanic. - Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities. - Good conversational English with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management. - Ability to read, understand, and interpret vehicle diagnostics, technical manuals, and repair information in English. - Excellent knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanical systems. - Ability to work independently and effectively manage workload priorities. - Strong awareness of health and safety standards. Desirable Qualifications & Experience: - HGV Mechanic qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, QQI, or equivalent). - Experience working within the waste management, recycling, transport, or logistics sectors. - HGV Class C or C+E driving licence.
