Job description
Due to the increase of business in our software development centre in Split, we are looking for an independent and persistent person for the position:
System Engineer (m/f).
As a System Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, network, and security specialists to design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring system performance, availability, and security while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation of our technology environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain IT systems, servers, and infrastructure
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Manage and optimize cloud and on-premises environments
- Implement security measures, backups, and disaster recovery plans
- Automate processes and improve system efficiency
- Collaborate with DevOps, network, and security teams
- Document system configurations, procedures, and updates
- Support system upgrades, patches, and migrations

Required education, knowledge and skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a System Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows Server)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls)
- Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and system performance tuning
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Desirable, but not essential:
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, VMware)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
